Painting haks

Hi friends,

Today I would like to share with each of you some painting hacks when we grow unique Flowers on silk.

* Paint on silk using free watercolor technique on salt solution. Why do we need salt? The paint spreads on silk and salt stops it and doesn’t allow it to spread a lot.

**Paint from easy to complex.

This means that we will move from common spots to the details of the flower (pistil, stamen) gradually, step by step. When spots are already forming a picture, we can start to outline everything gradually – add volume, saturation, where we need it, paint leaves and the middle of the flower.

Making color spots we should remember that paint spreads a little bit on silk. That’s why we should paint the object smaller – the paint will spread a little bit on the wet silk and start to blend. And it will be very beautiful.  The paint with salt can crystalize a little bit. It’s an interesting effect! When you use the same paint at different layers you get a new unique color.

***Color and color combination from light to dark.

This means that we can always cover a light color with a dark one, but not vice versa.

Batik process includes layers – from light to dark. That’s why at the beginning we need to come up with the color of the flower, with the background color, and with the leaves. For example, red (pink) and green colors are a great combination. They complement each other perfectly.

*** For more effect we can add paint or alcohol splatters. Alcohol will make your artwork lighter and add special bubble effect

All of this hacks will make your artwork more delicious.
